Football Recap: Joseph Weather Jr. Key Part of Team Effort in Panthers Win

Westwood won the last time they faced Centennial and things went their way on Friday too. The Panthers managed a 22-16 victory over the Eagles. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Panthers.

Westwood's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Joseph Weather Jr., who threw for 240 yards and a pair of TDs, and also rushed for 56 yards on only five carries. 142 of Weather Jr.'s passing yards were hauled in by Jermaine Walker, who also brought in a receiving touchdown.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Westwood was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 215 rushing yards. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Centennial only rushed for 94.

Centennial lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Kameron Barber, who picked up 148 receiving yards.

The victory got Westwood back to even at 2-2. As for Centennial, they now have a losing record of 2-3.

Westwood has already played their next contest, a 21-20 defeat against King's Academy on the 29th. As for Centennial, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next matchup, a 28-8 win against Okeechobee on the 3rd.
