Basketball Recap: Forbush Falcons vs. Oak Grove Grizzlies
Forbush was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their 19th straight defeat dating back to last season. They were outmatched by the Oak Grove Grizzlies and fell 94-35. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Falcons this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 83-33 last Wednesday.
Despite the loss, Forbush saw an underclassman step up: freshman Tyler Bryant went 7 for 8 on his way to 17 points and seven rebounds.
Oak Grove's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Loucas Shoaf, who went 8 of 13 on his way to 25 points and five steals. Shoaf's evening made it five games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Tristan Nunez, who went 6 of 11 on his way to 18 points and eight steals.
Forbush's defeat dropped their record down to 0-6. As for Oak Grove, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 3-0.
Forbush didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 49-45 loss against Starmount on the 13th. As for Oak Grove, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 65-64 defeat against Randleman on the 11th.
