Basketball Game Preview: Hunters Lane Warriors vs. Antioch Bears

The Hunters Lane Warriors will take on the Antioch Bears at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hunters Lane has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the matchup with nine straight losses, while Antioch will come in with four straight wins.

Last Friday, Hunters Lane was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 55-51 to McGavock.

Defeat or not, Hunters Lane got some senior leadership from Gabriel Deng and Isaiah Mcgill. Deng went 7 of 13 on his way to 15 points and five rebounds, while Mcgill posted nine points and eight boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Azavion Moore, who had five points and eight boards.

Even though they lost, Hunters Lane smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 16 offensive boards. That's the most offensive rebounds they've posted since back in November of 2023.

Meanwhile, Antioch hadn't done well against Cane Ridge recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. Antioch snuck past Cane Ridge with a 59-54 victory.

Antioch has also been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 11 of their last 12 contests, which provided a massive bump to their 12-6 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.2 points per game. As for Hunters Lane, their loss dropped their record down to 1-9.
