Baseball Game Preview: Alleghany Trojans vs. East Wilkes Cardinals

Alleghany is 2-8 against East Wilkes since April of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. Alleghany will venture away from home to face off against East Wilkes at 7:00 p.m.

Alleghany fell victim to North Stokes and their airtight pitching crew on Friday. They came up short against the Vikings, falling 7-0. The Trojans have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for East Wilkes, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. They won by a run and slipped past South Stokes 8-7.

Dalton Wood and Elijah Johnson dominated on the mound. Wood pitched seven innings while giving up three earned (and four unearned) runs off seven hits, while Johnson tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. What's more, Johnson gave up only zero walks, the fewest he's had since back in March of 2024.

East Wilkes' record is now 7-3. As for Alleghany, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-11.

Alleghany suffered a grim 14-5 defeat to East Wilkes when the teams last played back in April of 2024. Can Alleghany avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
