Football Recap: Chico Takes a Loss

Chico had lost six straight at home dating back to last season, but on Friday they dropped down to 1-3 to make it seven. They were dealt a 49-0 loss at the hands of the Petrolia Pirates. The Dragons lost against the Pirates in their previous head to head back in September of 2024, too, but the margin this time around was even wider than the 32-24 score last time.

As for Petrolia, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 3-1. Considering they have won three contests by more than 35 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

It was another big night for Brodie Jackson, who rushed for 152 yards and a pair of scores on only eight carries, and also caught one touchdown. His longest rush was for an incredible 77 yards. Another player making a difference was Kason Gee, who rushed for 79 yards and one TD on only eight carries.

Looking ahead, Chico will challenge Olney at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Petrolia, they will head out on the road to square off against Haskell at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. This will be the Pirates' first chance to prove their worth in the conference.
