Soccer Game Preview: Tascosa vs. Monterey

The Tascosa Rebels will square off against the Monterey Plainsmen at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Tascosa's last three matchups have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

Tascosa's defense heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Lubbock, sneaking past 1-0. Tascosa wouldn't have won without Charlie Whittenburg, who scored the game-winner.

Meanwhile, Monterey was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They lost 6-0 to Lubbock.

Monterey's defeat dropped their record down to 5-4-2. As for Tascosa, their victory was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-1-1 and their overall record up to 2-4-2.

Tascosa couldn't quite get it done against Monterey in their previous meeting back in February of 2025 as they fell 2-0. Can the Rebels avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
