Soccer Game Preview: Emerald vs. Westside

The Emerald Vikings will take on the Westside Rams at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. The squads are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Emerald has struggled recently with five defeats in a row, while Westside will arrive with three straight victories.

Things were looking good for Emerald after they put the first goals on the board on Wednesday, but unfortunately for them things went downhill from there. They fell just short of Laurens by a score of 2-1.

Emerald's goal came courtesy of Caiden Hedrick, who's now up to two this season.

Meanwhile, Westside kept a clean sheet against Laurens last Thursday. They walked away with a 2-0 win over the Raiders. That's two games straight that Westside have won by exactly two goals.

Westside's victory bumped their record up to 8-4. As for Emerald, their loss dropped their record down to 3-6.
