            Baseball Preview: Notre Dame-Green Pond Crusaders vs. Lehighton Indians        
        
		
        
        
            Notre Dame-Green Pond is preparing for their first  conference matchup of the season  on Friday. They will challenge the Lehighton Indians at 4:15  p.m. Both come into the  contest bolstered by wins in their previous  matches.
While Crusaders fans will have to keep waiting for their  team to come home, they shouldn't be too worried about the road trip considering the result of Wednesday's  season opener. They walked away with  a   9-4  win over Jim Thorpe  on Wednesday. The  victory was some much needed relief for the Crusaders as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak dating back to last season.
  Austin Casal was  incredible,  going 2-for-3 with three  stolen bases, one  triple,  and two  RBI. The dominant performance gave  him a new career-high in  stolen bases. The team also got some help courtesy of  Christian Rivituso, who  scored two  runs and  stole  Three bases. while going 1-for-4.
Meanwhile, Lehighton hadn't done well against Palmerton recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way  on Wednesday. Everything went Lehighton's way against Palmerton as Lehighton made off with  a  15-6 win.
 Derek Behler was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he  pitched one inning while giving up   no  earned runs or  hits. Behler was even better at the plate,  scoring five  runs and  stealing  Two bases. while going 3-for-4.
 In other batting news,  the team  relied heavily on  Cody Snyder, who  went 1-for-4 with one  home run, three  runs,  and two  RBI. Another player making a difference was  John Light, who  scored a  run while going 4-for-5.
