Basketball Game Preview: McDonough Rams vs. Huntingtown Hurricanes

The McDonough Rams will face off against the Huntingtown Hurricanes at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

McDonough will bounce into Friday's contest after beating Westlake, who they had gone 1-8 against in their nine prior meetings. McDonough narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past Westlake 46-43. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Rams have posted since January 17, 2024.

Meanwhile, Huntingtown posted their biggest victory since December 16, 2024 on Wednesday. Everything went their way against Patuxent as Huntingtown made off with a 49-25 win. Given the Hurricanes' advantage in MaxPreps' Maryland basketball rankings (they are ranked 69th, while the Panthers are ranked 210th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

The victory made it two in a row for Huntingtown and bumps their season record up to 10-1. As for McDonough, their win bumped their record up to 4-7.
