Lafayette took a ten-run loss the last time they faced off against Poquoson, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Rams sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-1 win over the Islanders on Wednesday. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Rams as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.

Brady Isaksen spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on four hits. He has been consistent : he hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Breccan O'Grady, who went 2-for-3 with one triple, one stolen base, and one run. That triple was his first of the season.

Lafayette's win bumped their record up to 3-5. As for Poquoson, they dropped their record down to 3-3 with the defeat, which was their third straight on the road.
