Softball Recap: Hertford County Comes Up Short

Hertford County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat. They came up short against the First Flight Nighthawks, falling 16-0. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Nighthawks this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 22-1 on Friday.

Hertford County's loss dropped their record down to 1-12. As for First Flight, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 6-3.

Coming up, Hertford County will square off against North East Carolina Prep at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The Husky have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 7.31 runs per game on average), something the Bears will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for First Flight, they will face off against Holmes at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Nighthawks' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Aces have averaged an impressive 9.1 runs per game this season.
