Basketball Recap: Walnut Takes a Loss

Walnut was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss dating back to last season. They took a hard 71-55 fall against the Byhalia Indians.

Despite the loss, Walnut still got an impressive performance from Logan Wilbanks, who shot 42% from the field on his way to 33 points and three steals. That was a full 60% of the Wildcats' points, marking the third time in a row Wilbanks has posted more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Sawyer Cardwell, who had 12 points and seven boards.

Walnut's defeat dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Byhalia, they now have a winning record of 2-1.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Walnut will host Ripley at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Byhalia, they will take on Byers at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
