Softball Recap: Waterloo Picks Up Fifth Consecutive Win

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Waterloo walked away with it. They came out on top against the Civic Memorial Eagles by a score of 8-4 on Friday. The win was familiar territory for the Bulldogs, who have now won five matches in a row.

Aidan Dintelman spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and three unearned) runs on eight hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 21 consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Sam Juelfs was incredible, going 3-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. She also put up a triple, which was her first of the season. Grayce Mayer was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and two runs.

Waterloo was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .414. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .389 or higher in five consecutive games.

Waterloo's victory bumped their record up to 22-4. As for Civic Memorial, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 15-11.

As of now, neither Waterloo nor the Eagles have any future games scheduled.
