Basketball Recap: Ben Swanson's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Green Mountain over Wise County Christian

After flying high against Lakewood last Thursday, Green Mountain came back down to earth. The Green Mountain Rams took a 44-36 hit to the loss column at the hands of Wise County Christian on Thursday. The game marked the Rams' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Green Mountain's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Ben Swanson, who almost dropped a double-double on 12 points and nine rebounds. Tyler Drake was another key player, putting up seven points.

Even though they lost, Green Mountain smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive boards. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.

Green Mountain's record is now 2-4. As for Wise County Christian, the win got them back to even at 1-1.

Green Mountain and Jasper-Troupsburg will face off at 4:00 p.m. on Friday without much rest having both just played. As for Wise County Christian, they will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Clinch at 6:00 p.m. on January 10, 2025.
