Softball Recap: Maiden Comes Up Short

Maiden lost against West Caldwell back in March, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Blue Devils fell just short of the Warriors by a score of 3-1. The Blue Devils have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Maiden saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Olivia Wray, who went 1-for-4 with one home run. Wray has been hot recently, having posted at least one home run the last three times she's played.

Maiden's loss dropped their record down to 6-6. As for West Caldwell, their win was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 13-1.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Maiden will face off against Lincoln Charter at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Eagles will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something the Blue Devils surely won't give up without a fight. As for West Caldwell, they will challenge North Lincoln at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Knights will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each matchup than the last.
