Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Bacon County). They put the hurt on the Fitzgerald Purple Hurricane with a sharp 80-54 win on Tuesday. The victory was all the more spectacular given the Raiders' disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 368th, while the Purple Hurricane are ranked 173rd).

Bacon County was led to victory by Santiago Bizzell and Xavier Harris. Bizzell went 7 for 17 on his way to 20 points along with six assists and five boards, while Harris went 11 of 24 en route to 29 points and five assists. Bizzell has been hot recently, having posted 18 or more points the last three times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Brayden O'Neal, who posted 12 points and three steals.

They weren't the only one working in the assists department: Bacon County was working as a unit and finished the game with 23 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

The win made it two in a row for Bacon County and bumps their season record up to 7-8. As for Fitzgerald, their defeat ended an 11-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 10-2.

Bacon County will welcome Worth County at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Worth County is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 53.2 points per game this season. Fitzgerald has already played their next matchup (against Brantley County), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
