Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask El Campo). They skirted past the Needville Bluejays 65-62. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Ricebirds have posted since December 17, 2024.

Several Bluejays players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jaydon Ortiz, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and ten rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Bohdan Zeitz, who posted 19 points.

El Campo's victory bumped their record up to 10-15. As for Needville, their loss dropped their record down to 8-13.

El Campo has already played their next contest (against Bay City), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Needville will be playing at home against La Marque at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in La Marque's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last five games.
