Baseball Recap: Four Straight Home Victories for Chaparral

Chaparral won the last time they faced Belle Plaine and things went their way on Monday too. Chaparral walked away with a 7-4 victory over Belle Plaine. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Roadrunners.

The team relied heavily on Conner Hostetler, who scored two runs and stole five bases while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. Those five stolen bases gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Daxton Hostetler, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 2-for-4.

Chaparral's win was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 2-0. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for Belle Plaine, they are on a four-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Chaparral is set to take on their familiar foe Trinity Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Belle Plaine will face off against rival Douglass on Thursday.
