Basketball Recap: Tucker Extends Winning Streak to Four

Tucker had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 31.3 points) and they went ahead and made it four on Friday. They came within five points of losing the streak, but they secured a 51-46 W against the Southwest DeKalb Panthers. This was a revenge game for the Tigers: when they faced off against the Panthers back in January, they had to take a 58-49 loss.

Aaron Burks and Jackson Ushery certainly did their best on Friday to avoid the loss. Burks dropped a double-double with 14 points and ten rebounds, while Ushery posted 13 points. Burks is also on a roll when it comes to field goal percentage, as he's posted one of at least 50% in the last seven games he's played. Thomas Glanton, III was another key player, putting up four points and seven boards.

Tucker's victory bumped their record up to 22-6. As for Southwest DeKalb, their defeat dropped their record down to 25-3.

Tucker wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 72-56 win against New Hampstead on the 19th. As for Southwest DeKalb, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 60-53 victory against Ware County on the 19th.
