Softball Recap: Marion-Franklin Red Devils vs. Walnut Ridge Scots

After flying high against Independence last Friday, Marion-Franklin came back down to earth. The Marion-Franklin Red Devils lost 24-9 to the Walnut Ridge Scots on Wednesday. Marion-Franklin has struggled against Walnut Ridge recently, as their contest on Wednesday was their third consecutive lost matchup.

For Walnut Ridge's part, the team relied heavily on Stefani Miller, who got on base in all five of her plate appearances with six stolen bases, two doubles, and an RBI. Miller hasn't dropped below four stolen bases for three straight games. Another player making a difference was Jaylyn Jenkins, who went 2-for-4 with a home run and four stolen bases.

Marion-Franklin now has a losing record at 4-5. As for Walnut Ridge, the win (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 10-2.
