Basketball Game Preview: Elkhorn South Storm vs. Millard South Patriots

Elkhorn South and Millard South are an even 4-4 against one another since January of 2016, but not for long. The Elkhorn South Storm will welcome the Millard South Patriots at 3:45 p.m. on Saturday. Elkhorn South knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past six matchups -- so hopefully Millard South likes a good challenge.

On Thursday, Elkhorn South came up short against Buena Vista and fell 77-70.

Meanwhile, Millard South faced Omaha Westside in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Saturday. Millard South lost 74-53 to Omaha Westside. The defeat continues a trend for the Patriots in their matchups with the Warriors: they've now lost four in a row.

The match pitted two dominant guards against one another in Koby Meyers and Emre Gedik. Gedik had a solid game and posted 16 points and six boards. Meanwhile, Meyers did his best for the losing side, almost dropping a double-double on 18 points and nine rebounds.

Millard South's loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 12-7. As for Elkhorn South, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-11.
