Basketball Game Preview: Richards Panthers vs. Dime Box Longhorns

Richards and Dime Box are an even 4-4 against one another since December of 2017, but not for long. The Richards Panthers will welcome the Dime Box Longhorns at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.

Richards is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They blew past Round Top-Carmine, posting a 73-35 victory. The win was some much needed relief for the Panthers as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.

Meanwhile, Dime Box waltzed into their game on Friday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Bulldogs 57-23.

Dime Box pushed their record up to 7-7 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 59.0 points per game. As for Richards, their win bumped their record up to 17-6.

Richards took their victory against Dime Box in their previous meeting back in February of 2024 by a conclusive 60-38. Will Richards repeat their success, or does Dime Box have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
