Basketball Game Preview: St. Bernard's Crusaders vs. Redding Christian Lions

The St. Bernard's Crusaders will head out to take on the Redding Christian Lions at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams are coming into the contest red-hot, with St. Bernard's sitting on five straight victories and Redding Christian on 14.

St. Bernard's is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Saturday. They walked away with a 70-60 win over Stone Ridge Christian. Given the Crusaders' advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 234th, while the Knights are ranked 616th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Redding Christian didn't have too much trouble with St. Vincent de Paul on Saturday as they won 57-38. The Lions pushed the score to 46-23 by the end of the third, a deficit the Mustangs cut but never quite recovered from.

Redding Christian pushed their record up to 29-3 with the victory, which was their 14th straight at home dating back to last season. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 29.6 points on average over those games. As for St. Bernard's, their record is now 24-5.

St. Bernard's came up short against Redding Christian in their previous meeting back in January, falling 52-43. Can St. Bernard's avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
