Softball Recap: Narrows Takes a Loss

Narrows was the 16-6 winner over Bath County when they last played one another on April 7th, but their luck changed this time around. The Green Waves took an 11-8 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Chargers on Tuesday. The Green Waves just can't catch a break and have now endured four losses in a row.

Narrows saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Maddi Shay, who went 1-for-4 with three RBI. Another was Lilly Broyles, who earned three runs and one stolen base.

Narrows' defeat dropped their record down to 6-10. As for Bath County, they moved to 5-9 with that victory, which also ended their three-game losing streak.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Narrows will challenge Fort Chiswell at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Pioneers have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 10.27 runs per game on average), something the Green Waves will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Bath County, they will square off against Eastern Montgomery at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
