Basketball Recap: Freedom Prep Academy Takes a Loss

Freedom Prep Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They had to suffer through a 62-28 loss at the hands of the Vanguard Academy Valiant. The Eagles were down 56-21 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.

When it comes to explaining why Freedom Prep Academy lost, don't look at Wyatt Leigh. Despite the final result, he almost dropped a double-double on 14 points and nine boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Jonas Sosa, who posted seven points and five boards.

Brayson Taylor had an outrageously good game for Vanguard Academy as he shot 5-for-8 from beyond the arc and almost dropped a double-double on 25 points and nine boards. James O'Brien was another key player, going 5 of 12 on his way to 13 points along with seven boards and four steals.

Freedom Prep Academy's loss dropped their record down to 5-8. As for Vanguard Academy, they now have a winning record of 2-1.

Freedom Prep Academy didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 72-25 defeat against American Prep WV on the 10th. As for Vanguard Academy, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 71-53 loss against Rockwell on the 10th.
