Basketball Recap: Sharp Academy Takes a Loss

Sharp Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They were beaten by the Lubbock T Titans 68-25. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Sabers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 57-20 back in November of 2024.

Despite the loss, Sharp Academy still got an impressive performance from Timothy Rodriguez, who dropped a triple-double on 19 boards, 15 steals, and ten blocks. Rodriguez is crushing it when it comes to rebounds: he's pulled down at least 18 every time he's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Michael Boyles, who posted 14 points.

Sharp Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Lubbock T, their win ended a six-game drought on the road and puts them at 9-12.

Sharp Academy will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Amarillo HomeSchool F at 6:00 p.m. on January 31st. Lubbock T will also get a bit of a break before their next match: they'll face off against Lubbock Christian at 2:00 p.m. on February 1st.
