Gulfport strolled into their game on Tuesday with a perfect record and they left with the same. They came within five points of losing the streak, but they secured a 47-42 W against the Theodore Bobcats. While the Admirals didn't have the best season last year (they finished 12-17), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

Gulfport's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Alayah H., who went 6-for-11 on her way to 12 points along with eight boards and four blocks. Jalesha Hanford was another key player, shooting 71% from the field to rack up 10 points and five rebounds.

Gulfport was working as a unit and finished the game with 14 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Theodore only posted three.

Despite the loss, Theodore saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Zaley Pickens went 8-for-17 en route to 16 points in addition to eight boards and four steals. Those 16 points set a new season-high mark for Pickens. The team also got some help courtesy of Jordyn Woodyard, who posted 11 points and three steals.

Gulfport's win bumped their record up to 7-0. As for Theodore, with the defeat, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 4-2.

Gulfport wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 48-39 loss against Hancock on the 2nd. As for Theodore, they have also already played their next contest, a 27-25 defeat against Moss Point on the 2nd.
