Basketball Recap: Mediapolis Comes Up Short

Mediapolis was the 62-59 winner over Louisa-Muscatine when they last played one another back in February of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Mediapolis Bulldogs fell just short of the Louisa-Muscatine Falcons by a score of 56-53 on Thursday. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Bulldogs came into the match with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Iowa basketball rankings (they are ranked 123rd, while the Falcons are ranked 275th).

This is the second loss in a row for Mediapolis and nudges their season record down to 9-6. As for Louisa-Muscatine, their victory bumped their record up to 7-9.

Mediapolis wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 65-43 win against New London on the 24th. As for Louisa-Muscatine, they will head out to face off against Lone Tree at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
