Recap: Toll Gate Titans vs. Lincoln Lions
On Friday, the Toll Gate Titans faced the Lincoln Lions in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Toll Gate pulled ahead with a 47-46 photo finish over Lincoln. The win was some much needed relief for Toll Gate as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.
Lincoln lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Lauren Cipriano, who scored 21 points along with six rebounds. That was a full 45.7% of Lincoln's points, marking the 13th time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Brielle Lambert was another key contributor, scoring 13 points along with eight rebounds.
Toll Gate's win bumped their record up to 10-8. As for Lincoln, their defeat dropped their record down to 12-9.
Toll Gate didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 48-35 victory vs. Pilgrim on the 12th. Lincoln will head out on the road to take on Middletown at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Middletown is coming into the matchup with eight straight defeats at home, meaning Lincoln will have to defend against a team hungry for a win.
