Baseball Recap: Van Horn's Win Ends Nine-Game Losing Streak on the Road

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Raytown South, Van Horn was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. They were the clear victors by a 24-6 margin over the Southeast Knights. That looming 24-6 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Falcons yet this season.

Brody Gray was incredible, scoring four runs and stealing five bases while getting on base in all five of his plate appearances. He also launched a home run, marking his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Carl Deck, who scored three runs and stole four bases while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances.

Van Horn always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .756. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

The Guardians' pitching crew has only allowed four runs per game this season, so the Falcons' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Southeast, they will head out on the road to square off against Central at 6:30 p.m. on Monday.
