Basketball Recap: Gunnison Valley Comes Up Short

Gunnison Valley was the 59-54 winner over Draper APA when they last played one another back in December of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. The Gunnison Valley Bulldogs took a 59-55 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Draper APA Eagles. While the Bulldogs didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Eagles 12-6 in the first quarter.

Max Jacobsen was his usual excellent self, going 7 for 16 on his way to 19 points and eight rebounds for Draper APA. Those eight boards gave Jacobsen a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Parker Overby, who posted eight points in addition to six steals and five boards.

Gunnison Valley's loss dropped their record down to 6-3. As for Draper APA, their victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 5-2.

Gunnison Valley and Stansbury will round out the year against one another at at 5:30 p.m. on December 27th. As for Draper APA, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 67-55 win against Intermountain Christian on the 19th.
