Softball Recap: Murphysboro Red Devils vs. Chester Yellowjackets
Murphysboro won the last time they faced Chester and things went their way on Saturday too. The Red Devils put the hurt on the Yellowjackets with a sharp 7-1 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Red Devils.
Ayla Smith spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a run (which was unearned) on three hits and racked up six Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 19 consecutive appearances.
