Basketball Game Preview: South Florence Bruins vs. Wilson Tigers

The South Florence Bruins will take on the Wilson Tigers at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. South Florence will be strutting in after a win while Wilson will be coming in after a defeat.

Having struggled with three losses in a row, South Florence turned things around against Lakewood on Thursday. They came out on top against the Gators by a score of 48-39.

South Florence found their leader in sophomore Harmony Bostick, who dropped a double-double on 23 points and ten rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Allyson Watson, who posted ten points.

South Florence smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 11 offensive boards in three consecutive games.

Meanwhile, Wilson was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Thursday as they fell 64-58 to Lower Richland.

South Florence's victory bumped their record up to 9-5. As for Wilson, their defeat was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 12-4.

South Florence couldn't quite finish off Wilson when the teams last played back in January of 2024 and fell 54-52. Can South Florence avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
