Baseball Recap: Crossroads Takes a Tough Playoff Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Crossroads can now relate to. They came up short against the Rancho Mirage Rattlers on Tuesday, falling 11-5. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Roadrunners have suffered since April 10, 2024.

Jake McCaffrey made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 4-for-4 with three runs, one stolen base, and one double. Crossroads is 9-1 when McCaffrey posts two or more runs, but 8-9 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Avery Deutch, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double.

Crossroads' defeat dropped their record down to 17-10. As for Rancho Mirage, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine games. That's provided a massive bump to their 17-12 record this season.

Crossroads does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Rancho Mirage, they didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 6-0 win against St. Monica on the 23rd.
