Basketball Game Preview: Freeman Flyers vs. Bridgewater/Emery Huskies

Freeman hasn't had much luck against Bridgewater/Emery recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Freeman Flyers will look to defend their home court against the Bridgewater/Emery Huskies at 7:00 p.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one: both posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

Freeman took a loss when they played away from home on Saturday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 66-63 win over Irene/Wakonda.

David Walter and Tate Sorensen were among the main playmakers for Freeman as the former dropped a double-double on 18 points and ten boards and the latter almost dropped a double-double on 14 points and nine blocks. The dominant performance gave Sorensen a new career-high in blocks. The team also got some help courtesy of Chris Aasen, who posted 12 points.

Meanwhile, Bridgewater/Emery waltzed into their matchup on Tuesday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They came out on top against the Rebels by a score of 57-45.

Freeman's victory was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 4-2. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 65.3 points per game. As for Bridgewater/Emery, their win bumped their record up to 4-1.

Freeman didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Bridgewater/Emery in their previous meeting back in January of 2024, but they still walked away with a 54-48 victory. Does Freeman have another victory up their sleeve, or will Bridgewater/Emery turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
