The Paducah Tilghman Blue Tornado will venture away from home to square off against the Calloway County Lakers at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday. Paducah Tilghman will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each matchup than the last.
Last Friday, Paducah Tilghman made easy work of Gallatin County and carried off a 16-1 win. The result was nothing new for the Blue Tornado, who have now won 13 contests by six runs or more so far this season.
Mia Bobbitt made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out eight batters over four innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits (and not a single walk). She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 2-for-2.

In other batting news, Adrienne Romain was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, six RBI, and two runs. Those six RBI gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Sophie Key, who went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs.
Paducah Tilghman hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least five batters in four consecutive games.
Meanwhile, Calloway County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their 15th straight defeat. They took a 5-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of Madisonville-North Hopkins.
Paducah Tilghman pushed their record up to 16-5 with the victory, which was their tenth straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.7 runs over those games. As for Calloway County, their loss dropped their record down to 0-15.
Calloway County's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Paducah Tilghman has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .513. It's a different story for Calloway County, though, as they've only averaged .199. Will they be able to contain Paducah Tilghman's hitters?
Paducah Tilghman couldn't quite get it done against Calloway County in their previous matchup back in April of 2022 as they fell 6-3. Can the Blue Tornado avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
