Basketball Recap: Silas' Losing Streak Snapped at Five Games

Silas made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Capital, but still couldn't quite topple them. The Silas Rams were the clear victor by a 60-34 margin over the Capital Cougars on Wednesday. The high-scoring performance was a welcome turnaround for the Rams' offense, which had struggled in the games prior.

Leading Silas to victory were Carmayla Jackson and Sisalee Miller. Jackson dropped a double-double on 13 points and 26 rebounds, while Miller went 8 of 20 en route to 24 points and six steals. With that strong performance, Miller is now averaging an impressive 2.2 steals per game. Jordin Palu-Pinkett was another key player, putting up 12 points.

Despite the loss, Capital still got an impressive performance from Kail'Ah Allen, who posted eight points and 20 boards. Allen is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as she's now pulled down ten or more in the last eight games she's played.

With the win, Silas broke their five-game losing streak and moved their record to 6-8. As for Capital, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-10.

Silas will look to defend their home court on Friday against Lakes at 7:30 p.m. That match will pit two of the most dominant guards against one another: Samara Oliver and Annique Smith. As for Capital, they will take on Mount Tahoma at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Capital is facing Mount Tahoma at the right time seeing as Mount Tahoma is stuck on a 14-game losing streak.
