Basketball Recap: Heritage Academy Takes a Loss

After flying high against ASU Prep last Thursday, Heritage Academy came back down to earth. The Heritage Academy Heroes fell 54-45 to the East Valley Athletes for Christ Eagles on Monday. If the Heroes were looking for revenge after losing 43-39 to them when the teams met, then they'll just have to keep looking.

East Valley Athletes for Christ's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Ajay Hoover, who posted 13 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Anthony Sorensen, who had nine points and three steals.

Heritage Academy's loss dropped their record down to 1-1. As for East Valley Athletes for Christ, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 4-0.

Heritage Academy will be playing at home against BASIS - Chandler at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for East Valley Athletes for Christ, they will head out to square off against Eduprize at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. East Valley Athletes for Christ is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 62.2 points per game this season.
