Soccer Game Preview: Rockbridge County vs. Turner Ashby

Rockbridge County is 2-8 against Turner Ashby since May of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Wildcats will head out to challenge the Knights at 7:00 p.m. Rockbridge County's last three games have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

On Monday, Rockbridge County didn't have quite enough to beat East Rockingham and fell 3-2. That's two games in a row now that Rockbridge County have lost by just one goal.

Meanwhile, Turner Ashby strolled into their game on Monday with a perfect record and they left with the same. They never let Wilson Memorial get on the board and left with a 6-0 win. Considering Turner Ashby have won four matchups by more than two goals this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

They hit Wilson Memorial with a four-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Fredy 'Daniel' Hernandez (3), Adam Arenas, Bennett Wilburn, and Erick Santiago.

Turner Ashby's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 7-0. The road wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 16 goals over those four contests. As for Rockbridge County, their loss dropped their record down to 1-3.

Rockbridge County might still be hurting after the 5-0 defeat they got from Turner Ashby when the teams last played back in May of 2024. Can the Wildcats avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
