Baseball Recap: Manti Comes Up Short

Manti was the 9-1 winner over North Sanpete when they last played one another back in May of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Manti Templars fell just short of the North Sanpete Hawks by a score of 7-6 on Friday. The Templars have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Manti saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kooper Lund, who scored two runs while going 1-for-3.

Even though they lost, Manti hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now struck out at most four strikeouts in 14 consecutive matchups dating back to last season.

Manti now has a losing record of 1-2. As for North Sanpete, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-2.

Coming up, Manti will take on Beaver in a tournament on Saturday. As for North Sanpete, they will challenge Summit Academy at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday. North Sanpete is facing Summit Academy at the right time seeing as Summit Academy is stuck on a three-game losing streak.
