Elkhorn had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 4.7 runs) and they went ahead and made it four on Saturday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 7-5 win over the Verona Wildcats. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Elks have posted since April 12th.

Elkhorn's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 9-6. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.7 runs over those games. As for Verona, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 10-7.

Coming up, Elkhorn will welcome Burlington at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Verona, they are taking a road trip to challenge DeForest at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The Wildcats are facing the Norskies at the right time seeing as the Norskies are stuck on a three-game losing streak.
