Baseball Recap: Glenwood Titans vs. Mt. Zion Braves

They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 4-2 win over the Mt. Zion Braves. Caleb Chamberlain looked comfortable as he struck out six batters over four innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off four hits (and not a single walk).

On the hitting side, Glenwood saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jace Easley, who went 2-for-3 with an RBI.

Glenwood pushed their record up to 11-2 with that victory, which was their ninth straight at home. As for Mt. Zion, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-5.

Glenwood will head out on the road to take on Normal University at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average, (Normal University: 3.9, Glenwood: 3.2) so any runs scored will be well earned. As for Mt. Zion, they will be staying on the road on Thursday to face off against Teutopolis at 4:30 p.m.
