After losing to Van Buren the last time they met, Elmwood decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Royals put the hurt on the Black Knights with a sharp 16-3 victory on Wednesday. The result was nothing new for the Royals, who have now won nine games by nine runs or more so far this season.
Addi Hoffman made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out eight batters over five innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off five hits (and only one walk). She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in nine consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double.
