Basketball Game Preview: Lennox Orioles vs. Beresford Watchdogs

Lennox is 8-2 against Beresford since January of 2016 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Lennox Orioles will head out on the road to square off against the Beresford Watchdogs at 6:30 p.m. Lennox knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past three games -- so hopefully Beresford likes a good challenge.

On Friday, Lennox humbled Hanson with a 62-29 victory. Given the Orioles' advantage in MaxPreps' South Dakota basketball rankings (they are ranked 18th, while the Beavers are ranked 94th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Beresford lost 70-47 to Elk Point-Jefferson on Friday. The Watchdogs haven't had much luck with the Huskies recently, as the team has come up short the last five times they've met.

Lennox is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 12-6 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 54.1 points over those games. As for Beresford, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-9.

Lennox strolled past Beresford in their previous meeting back in February of 2024 by a score of 56-39. The rematch might be a little tougher for Lennox since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
