Baxter Springs extends home losing streak to ten

This season hasn't been kind to the Baxter Springs Lions, who are still winless after their sixth matchup. They took a serious blow against Columbus on Friday, falling 57-8. Baxter Springs has not had much luck with Columbus recently, as the team's come up short the last five times they've met.

Columbus was led to victory by Brylie Johnson and Katy Mooney. Johnson scored 12 points along with six steals, while Mooney scored 25 points along with two steals. That's the first time this season that Mooney scored 15 or more points. The team also got some help courtesy of Ellie Helms, who scored six points along with six rebounds and five assists.

Baxter Springs bumped their record down to 0-6 with that loss, which was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season. As for Columbus, the victory got them back to even at 4-4.

Baxter Springs will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Columbus at 6:00 p.m. on February 13th. Columbus' road trip will continue as they head out to face College Heights Christian at 6:00 p.m. on January 17th.
