Volleyball Game Preview: Elder Panthers vs. Walnut Hills Eagles

The Elder Panthers will head out on the road to square off against the Walnut Hills Eagles at 6:30 p.m. on Monday.

Elder is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Ohio's top teams: St. Xavier, who was ranked sixth at the time (Elder was ranked first). The Panthers came up short against the Bombers on Friday, falling 3-0. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Panthers have suffered since May 3, 2025.

Elder was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the first set very close. The match finished with set scores of 25-22, 25-18, 25-21.

Fans were treated to a battle of the Eagles on Thursday. Walnut Hills came out on top against Milford by a score of 2-0.

Elder's loss ended a three-match streak of wins at home and dropped them to 14-4. As for Walnut Hills, the win got them back to even at 5-5.

Elder was able to grind out a solid victory over Walnut Hills in their previous matchup back in April of 2025, winning 3-1. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Panthers since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
