Baseball Game Preview: West Bend West Spartans vs. Whitefish Bay Blue Dukes

West Bend West hasn't had much luck against Whitefish Bay recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Spartans will head out to face off against the Blue Dukes at 5:00 p.m. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (West Bend West 3.6, Whitefish Bay 2.7) so any runs scored will be well earned.

West Bend West fought the good fight in their extra-innings contest against Slinger on Wednesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Owls by a score of 8-7.

Quinlin Ehlke made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Ryan Rose, who went 1-for-4 with two runs.

Meanwhile, Whitefish Bay is still undefeated this season after their matchup against Nicolet on Wednesday, but Nicolet came as close as anyone has to beating them. The Blue Dukes never let the Knights get on the board and left with a 1-0 victory. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Blue Dukes have posted against the Knights since April 26, 2023.

West Bend West's loss dropped their record down to 8-4. As for Whitefish Bay, they pushed their record up to 10-0 with the victory, which was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season.
