It was a good run, but St. John's Prep unfortunately witnessed the end of their nine-game winning streak on Thursday. They fell just short of the Newton South Lions by a score of 3-2. The Eagles were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Lions apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

St. John's Prep's defeat dropped their record down to 15-7. As for Newton South, they now have a winning record of 9-8.

St. John's Prep does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Newton South, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-0 loss against Brookline on the 3rd.
