Baseball Game Preview: Milton Panthers vs. Pensacola Catholic Crusaders

Milton hasn't had much luck against Pensacola Catholic recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Milton Panthers will be playing in front of their home fans against the Pensacola Catholic Crusaders at 7:00 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

It was a proper cat-fight when Milton challenged Baldwin County on Friday. Milton fell just short of Baldwin County by a score of 3-2. The contest marked the Panthers' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

Cade Burdette put in work no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing six innings while giving up just two earned runs off five hits. What's more, he posted four strikeouts, the most he's had since back in April of 2024. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one double, and one RBI.

Burdette wasn't the only one making solid contact as three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Jake Albrecht, who scored a run while going 2-for-3. Albrecht also hit a double, marking his first of the season.

Meanwhile, Pensacola Catholic lost 10-4 to Pace on Wednesday. The Crusaders have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Rhyland Richards was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3.

Pensacola Catholic's loss dropped their record down to 3-6. As for Milton, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-3.
