The Cole Valley Christian Chargers will square off against the Weiser Wolverines at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Cole Valley Christian came out on top against Payette on Monday thanks in part to the team's impressive six-run first inning. The Chargers were the clear victors by a 12-2 margin over the Pirates. The victory was familiar territory for the Chargers, who have now won three contests in a row.

Lauren Colson made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Colson was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with one home run, two stolen bases, and three runs. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged two or more in each of the last three games she's played.
In other batting news, Abbie English and Lola Crosby did most of the damage at the plate: English went 3-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and one triple, while Crosby went a perfect 4-for-4 with three stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs. Crosby has been hot recently, having posted three or more RBI the last three times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Emery Hawkins, who went 1-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.
Cole Valley Christian kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least 11 hits in three consecutive matchups.
Meanwhile, while Weiser put up plenty of runs on Monday, the same can't be said for McCall-Donnelly. The Wolverines blew past the Vandals 24-0. The Wolverines' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.
Madi Janicek made a splash no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out seven over five innings pitched. Janicek was also big at the plate, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with two stolen bases and two runs.
In other batting news, Ellie Shirts was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, five stolen bases, and eight RBI. Those eight RBI gave her a new career-high. Sophia Shirts was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, four RBI, and one stolen base.
Cole Valley Christian's win was their 16th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 21-4. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.7 runs on average over those games. As for Weiser, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 15-5.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Wednesday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Cole Valley Christian has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 8.2 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Weiser struggles in that department as they've been averaging 8.8 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
